Escher’s Blue (Polyommatus escheri), at Gavarnie. One of the many butterflies observed on the Butterfly Conservation EIG trip I organised last week here in the Hautes Pyrénées.
We had a week of glorious weather so were able to visit many of my favourite locations and observe numerous butterflies, birds and flowers.
Highlights included Lefebvre’s Ringlet, more than twenty puddling Gavarnie Blues, Snowfinch, Alpine Accentor and Lammergeier
