A Camberwell Beauty!
We are very lucky in the French Pyrenees to have the magnificent Camberwell Beauty butterfly, here in the Bareges valley they are just emerging from hibernation. Locally they are fairly common this time of year.
We have observed nearly 20 species this last week including Large Tortoiseshell, Swallowtail, Scarce Swallowtail, and de Prunner’s Ringlet.
Jude organizes butterfly days in our lovely mountains throughout the summer, we have identified over 130 species locally.
